I am loving your blogs, thank you. I have had many passions throughout my life, nail tech, baker, writer, etc.. They become all consuming for any length of time (months to years), then poof, I'm on to the next thing. I am totally okay with that, exploring whatever interest me. My last passion was so all-consuming I neglected my health. So this year, I decided my passion for however long it takes will be me!!! Thank you.

Yes! And that's something I forgot to mention: our passions CAN change over time, and that's perfectly okay! There's the archaic idea where you're supposed to only really love and be good at one thing your entire life, and that's still echoed in the idea of going to college and choosing one major, one career path, etc. I think it's a tie-over from previous generations where the norm was you went to one job for 40 years and company loyalty and stability were the key values of the day, but that's no longer really the case with our society. We're growing and adapting to new ideas, new modes of thinking and perceiving the world, and the fact that our passions can change over time is one reflection of that.

Exactly. It was drilled in me to go to college and get a job. Did that and was like, ok, what next. So while I keep the 9-5 which I love, but know I won't retire from (who does that anymore), I keep the door open to the possibilities.
