Wow. These are some important insights. Good for you for recognizing what is going on. Please follow your own advise and take care of yourself. I want you to live, too.

Nini, thanks for opening up & sharing your story with us. Wanna hear something interesting? I used to be the same way (always thinking about food) until I started eating only 2 meals a day (lunch & dinner, & 1 snack). Eating that way has helped me focus on doing other things besides obsessing over food. I was like that when I was eating 5 small meals a day. That used to drive me CRAZY!!! I'm doing intermittent fasting, & it's working for me. I still eat every day; I just have my last meal around 6-7pm & then I don't eat again til 1 or 2pm the next day. My body's in a fasted state for 17+ hours. I drink my warm/hot lemon water, regular water, & a 20 oz cup of coffee & green tea & I'm good til then. Time goes by sooo fast, I have to remember that it's time to have my breakfast (get it - break - fast). I usually have some protein, a veggie, & a fruit, & I feel good!!! I hope everything works out for you. It's a rough road, but you can do anything you set your mind to do. Good luck!!!

Great job with the times you did resist! It's a start. :) I also struggle to resist eating the bad stuff when I am bored. We just have to keep working at it!

I think it is good to acknowledge the "hey, I am not even hungry...why am I eating this/in the kitchen/pantry" and redirect yourself. And I agree that food is not a reward, IMO/IME when I have a craving for something I find it helps me to have a small portion of something (french fries/chips are one of my weaknesses) and then the craving doesn't turn catastrophic (like what a kid size fry would have satisfied is now a super size to satisfy). I can usually take or leave sweets, but there are times I just want something...but I try to define it as much as possible so I am not just grazing on crappy food and still not feeling satiated as well as feeling like pewp because I've overeaten.

idk maybe I'm justifying, but since the vast majority of the time I am making healthful choices that the every once in a while deviation isn't going to do me in.

Great post!
