Also, you can get Nordic walking poles, they make walking more like cross country skiing, get upper body workout, reduces stress on knees. Costs about $100 for a pair, use on grass or dirt trails for lower impact, or with good sneakers on pavement.

Try walking in a pool. Cold water burns more calories, warm water better for joints. I did laps walking forwards, backwards, and sideways.

Water aerobics or just walking laps in the water is good. You will find you will be able to do more flexibility wise and your joints will love you. Good luck to you. I am very overweight too and keeping at it!!

Terri, have you tried a stationary bike?? I am also 100+ lbs over and my body throws a fit after doing much but I find the bike is really low impact on the joints but great cardio/calorie burner!!

oh gosh me too. I've been overweight for about 40 years so I've tried them all. Since I can't afford to lose $50 this is me putting my money where my mouth is. I normally try to be a winner, but may we all be losers on this journey!
