How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

Does this actually work?

Out of 691,244 DietBetters, 93.75% have lost weight during their challenges. Combined, they've lost 10,534,758 lbs and won $58,264,743. In other words...yes.

All results shown on DietBet are from actual users. Individual results may vary.

Can anyone tell me how much it cost to cash points in and send funds to PayPal?

there's no fee when you link up your bank account. there's a 1% fee if you have it sent to a debit card

Dana

It didn’t cost me anything.

  • So I'm at the point in my weight loss qhere I've had to donate or throw out a good 75% of my clothes, but I'm nowhere near my.goal weight. So I motivated myself with the cutest Juicy tracksuit in the world off eBay for this doetbet because I can at least fill fancy and cute lounging in my house with it if it doesnt hug my body when I hit goal :) just an idea for people disappointed in the payout for their next game!

Has anyone joined the high stakes games? Do u at least break even if you win? Thanks!! Congrats to everyone who won!

Hi, honey!! So it's in the contract of the games :) you always minimally break even, even if everyone were to win and the site itself would have to take a loss.
I'm in a high stakes game right now! I joined as soon as I hit my goal on this one. And I'm much more paranoid about losing $100 than $30, lemme tell ya :kissing_heart:

Hi this is my first DietBet, and a bit disappointed in the payout. What mechanisms do you have in place for players to make sure that you’re accountable as an organization? I would like to see the numbers as far as the percentage of people who actually met their goal and also how much you guys are taking for building the app. I know I read the percentage somewhere but like most information in your app have no clue where I found it

If you play higher stakes you win more. I played a transformer and doubled my money (total bet is $150, I got back $300.) You won't get rich off of dietbet, it's more for people who will be motivated to lose weight so they don't lose money. I got $14 for free and I lost 8lbs. Win win all around. Aren't you happy about losing the weight?

Tom

Honestly, for me, it's more about not loosing my initial investment then the amount of money I "win". I play three a month, 1 @ $100 and 2 @ around $30. All together, I might only win $30, but I could lose $160. the thought of losing $160 is more of a motivator than the chance to win $30.

Also, be careful about the $100 dollar kickstarter. You actually wind up winning less on those than the $30 dollar ones. FYI, I've been averaging about $6 win on the $100 and $12 win on the $30.

That means there was roughly 2,140 ish people that won this dietbet. I did not calculate the 25% and other items they deduct before finializying

I think it was around 1600 people

Dietbet the company takes a certain percentage, the host gets a certain percentage. There is a list of how the pot is split

I can really tell who is here to better themselves and who is here in hopes to make a quick buck. If your intentions were in the right place maybe you wouldn’t be so disappointed.

I wonder: If the people reporting are all the winners and over 3K entered, that's a wad of cash on the table to spread around, huh? It doesn't matter: I'm going to " let it ride." I'm betting on myself in Jordan's next game: I need the motivation to keep on the "up and up" since the day after I weighed in I had not 1, but 2 righteous meals. I went on the scale today and added 3lbs. I figured some of it had to do with the salt in the meals and Cool Ranch Doritos, but still: Pretty irresponsible of me after busting my ass for 4 weeks to make my 4% goal. I did cardio this AM. Going back to the gym within the hour to work on core/strength. Back on the wagon today...

Christen M, it sounds like this isn't for you and that's okay - to each there own. But I wouldn't call it "a racket". A 44% return plus the weight loss isn't anything to scoff at.

yogabonnie

I love diet bet. even when I lost the $ I know first off some of YOU (who are working so hard) gets a portion and I STILL win if I even lose only 1 lb. !!

I won!! I was worried because the weigh-out time was right at my usual peak bloat time before shark week. Somehow I stayed the same, so I crushed it!
