Thanks for your story, Jenna! I'm a huge fan of Michael Pollan and appreciate his sane approach to food and eating. "Eat food. Mostly plants. Not too much." :)

Recently, I've come to think of my weight-loss journey as my own version of recovery. (I was 280 pounds, and you don't get to that weight without some issues going on inside.) I've achieved a 110-pound loss so far. I'm still working on the physical aspects of weight loss, but recently I started working on the emotional parts as well - reconnecting with abandoned relationships, making an effort to spend less time on my own and getting involved in my community, etc.

I'll check out your book recommendations. Thanks for them!

Count me in as one of your cheerleaders and givers of tough love when it's needed. <3

JennaJA, thanks for sharing your story!!! We're on this journey to successfully lose weight & keep it off, & the most important thing I remind myself of is this: I'm my own cheerleader, & it's up to me to change my thoughts. There is a quote by Henry Ford that I love: "Whether you think you can or can't, you're right." When we change the way we think & feel about food, our dreams will be fulfilled. We're a work in progress, but we're gonna beat this!!! WE'RE IN IT TO WIN IT!!! :-)
