  • Went swimming today and glanced at myself in my swimsuit in the mirror. I was compelled to take a picture then I went back in my photos on my phone. Found this picture of when I first got this swimsuit. I was 280 pounds in the left picture, in the right picture which was taken today I weighed 212. My advice for anyone on a weight loss journey is to take progress photos! Even if you hate what you look like in the mirror someday you will be happy to have these photos to help share your journey with other people! At my high weight of 295 my waist measured 55”. Today I’m down to a 41” waist. This has been a long journey but I wanted to share a bit of my story. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with postural Orthostatic tachycardia syndrome or other wise known as POTS. I had to use a cane when walking just to keep my balance. Today I’m able to walk over 3 miles without stopping with no cane or assistance device. My next goal is to start jogging. I’m still a little over 40 pounds to my goal weight but I’m learning to enjoy the journey.

  • I’m so excited; I have lost the 20lbs I gained last year and I am officially back in the 170s! I celebrated by treating myself to some new workout clothes because Athleta was having a sale (and who can afford that ish full priced? Lol).   • Today I made my first comparison in the same clothes. And I wanna thank you all, that this is such a save space for me that I post this. It isnot much of a difference but more than I thought. 8kg down. And I started with Yoga again. At the moment only relaxing stuff to get some energy back. But at least I am doing sports again.

    Also I have a walking pad and plan on starting with half an hour while working.

    So after almost 4 month I am still on this journey ???????????? That already is a win for me.

    As the pressure of making our goal for this game gets stronger, it’s important to remember that the scale doesn’t tell the whole story.

    Also, as things come up in life, it’s important to pat ourselves on the back for good habits we are keeping up with, challenges we are overcoming, and just making it through the day.

I’m keto and IF… modified alternate day fasting. It works for me, perhaps not for everyone, but it works for me :)

Low carb definitely doesn't work for me. Instead, I make sure my carbs are whole foods. I also don't bother with IF; the 14 hours between dinner and breakfast are plenty. I could see how it might be helpful to someone who is a late-night or mid-morning snacker.

For me, what works to keep my calories at my goal and feel sated is to eat whole foods.

My daughter's birthday was Friday and that led to a downward spiral. Fast food, soda, and too many sweets. This week is going to be important because I don't want to have to lose all the weight in the final week (like i did in March).
