Make a life style change rather than a quick fix - also you can’t always say yes to every single treat!

Slow and steady repetition, be in it for the process and feeling healthier not the end goal. Pay attention to your macros ( i use an app). Its a marathon not a sprint.

I would like to ask for any advice to get the scale moving.. I'm tracking calories and lots of walking for exercise. It just seems like I lose and gain the same 5 pounds over and over. I'll add that I have alot of weight to lose.

I do better when I track everything.

Lori M.

I drink at least 64oz's a day, and I only eat between a certain time a day so that I am done eating before 6pm. I'm one who can't stay off the scale, so I weigh myself the same time everyday. I have a bad knee so exercising the way I want is a bit of a struggle, so I take a natural fiber supplement to keep things moving if you know what I mean. With me, I'm more successful if I am consistent with weighing my food and Journaling my macros. Higher protein, lower good fats and carbs is what I am doing. And if you slip a day, shake it off and start over the next day. Don't try to under accommodate what you went over the day before.

What’s everyone’s philosophy on cheat meals/cheat days?

I usually don't do a cheat day. I used to but it seemed to throw me off balance.

Megan M.

So I don't really do cheat days. I keep a 1200 to 1700 range, all of which puts me in a calorie deficit. Most days I keep at the 1200 mark, but if there is a day when I need an extra treat I keep in my 1700 range, but I also don't worry if I'm a little over because in the course. This has really helped my mindset so I don't get off track with a cheat day, I used to turn one into multiple and have a hard time getting back on track.

  • So this is my usual breakfast. Two good Greek yogurt with PB fit 2 tbsp. Any thoughts? Is it too many carbs and/or calories.

Full disclaimer; I had gastric sleeve in June. I had lost 45 pounds but my weight loss stopped literally after the third month. I recently gained 5lbs after a trip I went on and just not having self control. 😭

  • Sometimes if I want more carbs I will make this overnight oat recipe!

I see a dr for my thyroid & weight management. She advised at least 30g of protein per meal, at least 64 oz of water, and she put me on low carb - 20 net g a day the first month & 35 net g thereafter.
