  • Happy Wednesday! As a group, we’ve lost 380lbs😳😳 I’m so impressed with all of you!

    While American Thanksgiving is tomorrow, it doesn’t mean that we throw our progress out the window. I have 2 family meals that we are doing, so it’s going to be a challenge to stay on track but I have my plan of moderation in place, healthy snacks to come with me, and as always, my trusty water bottle.

    Sadly we didn’t have a local Turkey Trot this year, and it’s currently 9° outside-hard pass on that, but we are still getting our movement in with a family dance party. We make a list and every family member adds 2-3 songs. It ends up being a great time and an eclectic mix!

    Have a happy Thanksgiving if you celebrate it and I’ll see you back here, kicking butt, on Friday for the final push!

  • Holy buckets we’ve made it to the last week of the game! How are you staying on track this week?

    With it being American Thanksgiving this week, it feels very important to me to have a plan for the week to help stay on track. I have my workouts planned for the week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday thank you, but I also need to make sure I have plans for food. My family shows love with food, so it can be a bit tricky when we go to their house for a meal. My goal is everything in moderation. Would I like to fill with appetizers before the big meal, heck yes. But instead I’ll have a couple bites and be happy with that. Then during the meal, focus on protein and fill in with the sides.

    Make your plan and stick to it. And if you’re nervous, post for support! We’ve got your back!

I start the day with two glasses of water. Hated it at first, but now I need them. For some reason it sets the day for me and makes later indulgences easier to manage. Placebo for the win!

    Remember to keep up the steps you are taking as we go into the weekend. Even if you aren’t seeing immediate changes on the scale, you are making changes in your behavior and that is fantastic.

  • It’s workout Wednesday! If you don’t have a workout planned for today, here’s a great one you can do at home!

    What are your favorite workout apps? Can be free or paid. Personally I use FitOn, WayBetter, and Ryse-for tracking. I’ve used Aaptiv in the past and liked it a lot.

I really like the FitBod app. It tells you which weights to use each time and you rate how many more reps you could do so it can adjust for the next time. It also allows you to replace exercises that you can’t do (hello, knees!) and still target the same exercises. It also has you set what equipment you have so that it only recommends exercises using those items or particular weights.

  • Good morning and welcome to week 3! We are halfway through the game and I love seeing all the progress everyone is making!

    When is your preferred time to workout? I have to go first thing in the morning because after work/school just doesn’t work for me. I keep trying and then it just doesn’t happen. So morning it is!

    This week is busy in my house, we have houseguests, school concerts, family obligations, and then getting ready for more houseguests. But I have what I need to do to stay on track! You do too!
