Thanks for your encouragement. I looked for gympact and its not available for my kind of phone. I have been making some recipes that are raw vegan. When i am eating clean they are really delish. One of my favorites is lasagna. The noodles are made from mendolin sliced zucchini....and the "cheese" is made from making a thick sauce from soaked cashews and zucchini and garlic/herbs......oh dear now i have to make it...lol...mouth watering....lol

Yes I was hoping since I haven't been dieting in a while that by cutting everything out and eating healthy I would drop the weight, i think I will wait until Friday to see if there will be better results. So I also use my fitness pal but is it only calories that you count? Good luck with your diet bets!!! I'm sure you will win them

Thanks, Lisa! Are you using any tools to help you in this DietBet? I use MyFitnessPal to track calories consumed and burned. I also use GymPact to keep myself committed to working out. Also, I am participating in three bets with $85 on the line - they all end within a few days ofneach other, so losing that money is a huge motivation for me to stay on track. I'm pretty heavy, too - the weight seems to come off quicker the heavier you are. Is there anything specific I can give you advice on? :-)

Just curious- how much did you win? This is my first time. Do you at least win back your bet?

Kristen

I did Sunshine's first DietBet, which ended last week. The payout was $48 and some change, which is a profit of $23. There is always a chance you might not make your money back even if you succeed because DietBet does take a cut, but I don't see that happening in the larger games. In a smaller game, there's probably a better chance of everyone "winning," so the payout would be less than the bet after the DietBet fees are paid. But I think you are in good hands with this one - the pot is already pretty large! Also, you should keep in mind that there is a fee to withdraw your winnings under a certain amount ($100 I think - but I'm not certain). Read through the FAQs when you have a minute - they're pretty helpful! :) Good luck!!!

I love my GymPact app! I jog outside so I don't go to a gym, which makes it hard when it is storming, but so far I have kept up! If you jog or walk outside, you should check out the charity miles app. It donates money for every mile you do. It even lets you pick from an assortment of charities.

Kristen

Thanks for the advice, Marissa! That sounds like a great concept - I will definitely check it out! :-)

Have you tried tempeh? I chop it up, crisp it up in a pan with a tiny bit of oil, add some teriyaki sauce and serve it with brown rice or quinoa and stir-fry veggies. I've been vegetarian for three years now and I can't stand tofu, but I absolutely love tempeh. You can also shred it, brown it in a pan, and add taco seasoning to make vegetarian tacos. It is very versatile!

Kristen

I've honestly never heard of tempeh before. Thanks for the advice! I will definitely need to try it!

Have you tried turkey, veal, duck, buffalo, soy burgers, etc.

Kristen

I have a hard time with meat of any kind. My brain kinda shuts off after a bite or two of turkey and I couldn't even bring myself to try veal or duck. I do black bean burgers and the soy chik'n patties but I can only do that so much before I get bored. Bought some soy chicken cutlets and "chicken" protein strips this week and will try those but tofu is starting to sound like a real option to me.

Tauqilla M.

Well just cut out meat all together?!? Maybe. I went Vegan for 6 months, quite simple but I love chicken & fish!
