here is a hint for you: plot the weight on a line chart but add error bars. i find that my weight fluctuates randomly +- 1.5%. anything that falls within that range is just noise. weight daily, average for past 7 days and look at trends, not absolute numbers.

So sorry for your loss. I'm sure your friend would be proud of your progress in these tough times. I agree with sine, weigh yourself (same time in the morning, before you've eaten/drank anything) and chart it. I like to use the Health app in my iPhone, it'll chart over the week, month, or year. The week looks like a zigzag, but the year is definitely a downward slope.

Good job getting back on track! Just yesterday I avoided letting a fast food lunch binge turn into a whole day (or more) binge. If anything, that's an accomplishment in and of itself. My old self would've been so upset about eating "bad" foods that I would've thrown in the towel and given up. Today I even turned down ice cream with coworkers! I've gotten back on course and know that it will help me reach my goals!
