This is it! The final chapter before I reach my ultimate weight goal. It's time to really surprise myself. A really great friend once told me that I was the type of person that could move mountains. Are those mountains ready?

What gorgeous photographs! My willpower engine is proving to be hard to restart, but I've been pretty good about walking. I'm mooching off of your willpower now :^)

I got a fitbit pedometer. You get a 8-character identifier, which is usually supposed to have your name. I set it to "UGOTTHIS", so it sends me little notices like CHEERS ... UGOTTHIS. ;^)

Amazing finish! I'm thinking you probably went out for a long ride and didn't re-hydrate before weighing in, but any way you slice it, 14.8 lbs in 4 weeks is incredible. Congrats.

I've decided to keep up the daily exercise schedule, but to increase protein intake, slow down the weight loss, and concentrate more on weight training for the next month or so. You don't want to end up "skinny fat" at the end of the weight-loss trail. If you want to do another diet bet together, say, in the month leading up to T-Day, ping me at james l finnerty at g mail dot com, but without any of the spaces. Cheers! /Jim F

Congratulations, WOO HOO!! but wait... you said "that last 20 lbs" some time ago, which means (let's get the calculator out) that there's an excellent chance that you have a few more lbs to go after losing 4%. I consider 172 my best long term weight, so I'm not stopping till I get there. It's only a few pounds away, and losing 1 lb / week suddenly seems easier than ever before. Keep going!

Jim, thanks for the encouragement! I do have a few more lbs to go. I have 13 lbs to go to reach my ultimate goal weight. (I'm a tall lady.) I'm not stopping with this challenge, and I would definitely like to reach 165 by the end of December. Participating in this Dietbet is helping me realize that I WILL be reaching my goals.

A friend suggested using October as a month to practice keeping this weight off and then participating in another Dietbet in November. I think it is a great idea! I like the accountability and community spirit on here.
