Non-scale victory of the week!

Did fairly well, most days! Suprised myself by turning down invitations to do otherwise. Now that I’m back in the DietGame (yet) again, truly I’m trying my best to turn a fresh eye to trying to be the loser I’ve been since I was, hum, maybe 2 - so 56 years! That is a heck of a long time of trying to remain inspired to doing basically the same old song and dance! Yep. I grew up in a very fat phobia family with parents who counted calories and fat and everything before it was even cool. My entire life has been a struggle with my weight. Here I am again, and Dietbet has been good to me in the past so after a break I’m happy to be back. This week I’ve been doing good - but, I usually start strong. I cut back on extra calories and upped my time on the Peloton. I also charged back up my Fitbit so as to be more “aware” of my steps and movement. I pretty much stay at home now and in the house - so, really just setting a baseline of steps, etc so as to have a place to “launch” from. That’s pretty much it. Trying to keep my emotions on an even keel. Been feeling a little all over the place with the changes with family and holidays and such.

What do you feel you could have done better this week?

When husband brought me surprise treats, I should have refused. Mostly, didn’t.

Non-scale victory of the week!

Ive been on a “break” from DietBet - and honestly, a total breakdown of engaging my awareness of my diet. I’ve paid attention to other areas of my life, but amid major life challenges I have allowed my diet to fall to the side. I have worked out - got the Peloton bike (WooHoo) and been engaging in major “at home” facials and have upped my at home beauty game - but the diet - not so much. Now, I’m not a person who can let go of laser focus on my diet. I’m not talking a major gorge fest - just eating without awareness. Once upon a time, maybe. After 50, heck no. I gained a whole lot of weight in a short period of time. Of course, my major hot husband, who is a couple years older than me, sits on the couch after work with Doritos and doesn’t gain a pound, has come out of this same period of stress looking fine, indeed. He thinks I look good (funny he’s not chasing me around like he used to, though. Oh, and didn’t blink when I asked for the above mentioned Peloton)! I say all that to get to this - I’m back to Dietbet bc my tried and true philosophy that has worked for me through the years is to work my weight loss like it IS MY JOB. My J O B. Just like I would have tools at work, I have tools at my DIET job. Not just one tool. For example: I have my Peloton (they should pay me endorsements by now), my Fitbit, my big calendars where I put in my daily weights (work better for me than just an app - need the physical one IN MY FACE), still need the apps - Dietbet, My FitnessPal. You get my drift. I am suited up for battle. I start my day reporting for work so my brain is IN THE GAME - not just the Dietbet Games (tho import) but my J O B. Then I set reminders during the day so I “report in” status reports. Don’t want to go too long without checking into my job! This is my Job Description. If you have read this so far “bless your heart” (I am in the south). I may use my journal as job reports. Will give descriptions of my diet gadgets - I love my diet gadgets. They keep me excited and stoke the fires. Best of luck to any and all fighting this battle. For most, it’s not for the faint of heart.
