I just found out about this dietbet thing yesterday. I plan to join but I recently tried Keto and everyone at work and their families ALL lost weight on this diet and I lost 2 lbs in 2 months! That was ridiculous to me. Yes, I felt better but I need to get the weight off to help my health and cholesterol. I kept thinking I must be doing something wrong but when I landed myself in the ER cuz of chest pains, only to find out it was because my Potassium was so low, (side effect of Keto) I knew I was doing it right but it was killing me, literally, to do it and not even benefit from the diet. Any thoughts on this? I am so afraid to try it again because of the ER visit (and the ER bill!!). I am going to join some games this weekend and I joined a gym.

@KJ if you're not keeping up with electrolytes drinking too much water can be a problem. If you drink when you're thirsty and keep up with salt and potassium (magnesium too, but you're flushing out salt and potassium at a much higher rate on keto); you should be fine - given no other medical conditions. Pay attention and listen to your body. Especially if you're starting out, track how much of the minerals you're taking in, how much liquid and how you're feeling throughout the day and you'll figure out what *you* need as opposed to an internet stranger. My quick fix when I know that I've fallen behind on salt (I feel super tired and my limbs feel like lead) I gulp down some pickle juice and I feel better within 15 ish min.

Low electrolytes is a common side effect of keto. I personally never experienced it, but I know many do. I have had GREAT success with Keto--down 76 lbs in 11 months and have reversed my diabetes, normalized my blood pressure and cholesterol, and have healed my recurrent diverticulitis. I love the Keto WOE.
