Lower Limit on Calories?

Very interesting blog Drew! I always wondered how much food is too little. I don't like the feeling of going into starvation mode & usually my weight stalls if I eat too little. The stress, water retention, and hormone factors make sense though. Thanks for sharing!

That's why it's important to find what works for you, and no matter what you try, always take your vitamins. I like GNC's Women's VitaPaks. Their pre-made Lean Shakes (25g protein) also have lots of vitamins and minerals to help makeup for some of the things you don't get from food while counting calories. The protein helps prevent muscle loss. On hard training days, I also take BCAAs to help with muscle recovery. But yes, lots of conflicting information. One can take all the precautions in the world to design a study, but that doesn't mean he/she can't sway the results to show what they want.
