That sounds treacherous. I hope you can find a new job in a hurry! I use to have a horrible boss too, but it wasn't anywhere near that bad. I can't believe he's even giving you grief for going to the dentist. I just hope something comes your way to make your life easier!!

So sorry you're going through all of this and I can relate. My best advice is to control what you can and let the rest go. He isn't going to change, so take care of yourself and do what you must to be healthy in the moment. Been there as well and it can be miserable. Find things outside of work that you enjoy and do them. :) My best to you.
It's a Lifestyle Not a Diet

Have you tried replacing your creamer with whole milk? That's how I eventually became able to drink my coffee black! So first you start off with basically half milk and half coffee and gradually start decreasing the amount of milk you put in. I love black coffee now! I obviously put in milk from time to time (I love almond milk) but drinking it black is no longer a problem.

It sounds like you have a really great approach to your lifestyle changes you've made. You are doing what is realistic for you in your current life and it's working for you. Great job!!! The journey is different for everybody. The key is to find what works for you personally, and it sounds like you've done that.

Thank you everyone for the encouragement! I may have stumbled today, but I did make up my missed workout. I might not have everything figured out, but I will keep going until I reach my goal, regardless of the pace. I would hug every one of you if I could. :)

Brit

Thanks again to everyone who offered encouragement and advice. You all helped get me back on my feet and helped me to think about the full picture. I am happy to say I am back more now than ever! I am so thankful for the support here on DietBet from you all. You are all rock-stars in my book!

Great job qualifying! You can do this! I, too, set my MFP calories low so I can trick my mind into staying inside my goals. Not sad...whatever works! :) I also have to find treat foods that mimic what I'm really craving instead of having the real thing. Using spaghetti squash instead of pasta means I can put extra cheese (mmm cheese) on top. Greek yogurt with flavorings instead of cheesecake means I can have a huge portion instead of a tiny sliver (ha... I never stop at a tiny sliver!). You get the idea. Tell yourself it's only for another 4 weeks and deal with what happens next when you win the dietbet. And you WILL win it! We both will! Let's go! :)

Hey, Great job! 6 lbs is doable in 4 weeks! Stay insanely hydrated, and get sleep. Also, the "It's sad, but it works", not sad, smart. You invented a way to solve a problem. One day at a time :) and persevere.

This is so great!!! So happy for you!I also aim to become a morning workout person because the excuses just seem to pile up after a day of work. If I do it at the start I don't have to worry about it!

When life gets in the way, it does get hard. You are right though... just do it anyway. I figure even if I can't make up the difference, I can at least try and see how far I can go. Hopefully you can get back on track as well. Every little bit counts in the long run.

Justin B.

I saw your "winter blues" post. I have SAD. You can buy a special light online that really helps for around 40 bucks on amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Verilux-VT01WW1-HappyLight-Compact-Energy/dp/B00761HREI/ref=pd_sim_sbs_hpc_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=0ZRMWW8N2JN0YVM3MAXS You may also want to get your Iron tested. I was dying just trying to get through work this winter and I ended up being slightly anemic. A good multivitamin should get you iron, vitamin c, all the b vitamins for energy, etc. Just my two cents.

Wow - it's like you're telling me MY story! My husband and I were literally saying the exact thing last night. At the end of Round 1, I was working out every day at 5 am. I have 0% motivation when I get home from work, so I decided to exercise before I leave the house for the day. As soon as you take just two days off from early morning workouts, it's all over! The discipline is gone like it was never there! Very frustrating. What time zone are you in? Maybe we should start messaging each other to make sure that the other person is up in the mornings! ;) Either way, it's really difficult to stick to...

I love this post! I am in the exact same boat as you are. I gave in to the "just have a cheat weekend" after I came in three lbs. under during Round 1. That turned into a week, two weeks, and here I am only losing 1 lb. the entire month. I still have 3.5 to lose for Round 2, which won't happen. I just have to keep reminding myself that it's about the end journey, and one mess up month doesn't matter. I still did better over the holiday, so that's something! I'm going to hit it hard this week, even knowing that I won't make the goal for Round 2. I need to make sure that I stick to it this week as if Round 3 has already begun. Thanks for sharing about your journey. I really feel like Diet Bet is helping me be successful and not quit because of people like you sharing your struggles. It's so amazing to know I'm not alone. We can ENCOURAGE each other!
