I started my first Transformer in January. I've done a number of Kick-Starters and was down about 15 lbs. and finding that losing 4% in one month was becoming difficult. I figured that maybe my body was down enough that losing that much in a month was going to be more difficult, thus, I decided on a 6 month-er. I started the Transformer at 157.4.
Month 1 was difficult, but I managed to JUST make the weigh in at 152.6 (goal was 152.7). Round 2 goal was 148. This was a Big Deal for me because I haven't seen the 140's in about 8 years.
Week 1 I weighed in at 155.2. As I was hitting my cycle, I wasn't surprised by this at all, so I wasn't worried.
Week 2 I weighed in at 151.4. Not too bad yet, at least I was down from 152.6.
Week 3 I weighed in at...152.4.
Week 4 I weighed in at 151.2.
Final weigh in for Round 2 = 153.2.
As much as I watched every calorie, did cardio exercise to prevent as much muscle gain as possible, guzzled water, and got ample sleep, the weight just would not come off. Breaking the 150 barrier was looking impossible, and to top it off, Round 3 goal is now 144.8. that means I had to loose almost 10 lbs in one month!
Week 1 weigh in: 153.6.
At this point, I'm desperate. My plan has been this whole time to watch my calories and macros, get plenty of exercise, sleep, and water. I wanted to loose weight by eating things in moderation. I did NOT want to do any diet, or fad diet, because with 3 kids and a husband, no special diets are maintainable for long. I wanted to make REAL life long changes, not temporary ones to reach a goal, only to end them and balloon up again.
However, I'm at the point of "desperate times" and I HAVE GOT TO break this barrier. Enter the Egg Fast.
My mother in law has done this a number of times. It is a short term diet, not meant for life. It is essentially a kick in the butt low carb drop to bust the plateaus, and boy am I sailing on one of those.

The only changes I'm making are nixing the sugar substitutes. I just can't handle them. They taste horrible and leave a bitter aftertaste in my mouth that takes a good hour or so to go away. I've also had to swap a few things around already since I can't get all the ingredients in the tiny town I live in and would have to drive an hour away to get them. So, I'm not following this TO THE LETTER, but I am following it 98%. So far it has been completely do-able with only a few cravings. I made the Snickerdoodle Crepes last night (with Stevia) and gagged. Tonight I made the Cream Cheese Pancakes, but instead of the substitute, I used 1/2 tsp. regular sugar. I stayed under 20g of carbs, so I figured it was safe.
I feel like I'm actually putting ON weight, honestly. Out of concern, I looked up how long it takes for a body to start burning fat on a low carb diet. I found that it can take 2-7 days, but on average, it's usually about 2 days to burn any remaining carb reservers if you go 20g or less. It would stand to reason then, that tomorrow, being day 3, I should be hopefully going into ketosis. On a whim however, I weighed myself this evening.

This makes me excited for 2 reasons. 1) It's LESS than my Wedn. weigh in and 2) I weighed myself in the evening, when I tend to weigh more. I always weigh myself first thing in the morning after a bathroom break because I've always heard that typically the best time. Tomorrow I will brave the scale again and hold my breath in hopes it's even lower.

What I MUST keep in mind though, is that day 6 and 7 dips my toe out of the strict egg diet, and into a low carb, high protein/fat. I have been warned that there will be some lbs. coming back, but it shouldn't be as much as I lost, so there's no need to freak out. The best results seem to be from going 4-5 days on egg fast, and then 2-3 days of LCHF (low carb high fat). It's 3 steps forward, 1 step back. Progress is progress, so I'll take it.
