I did the 2 week Maffetone test. I was miserable. No fruit, no grains, no legumes. I thought I would be okay because whole fat dairy was encouraged. I did drop some pounds and an inch in my belly. But I missed apples and bananas and oatmeal. I try to avoid the added sugars and I still enjoy my oatmeal. I think depending on you goals, being totally ketogenic can help, but I could never get the energy I needed for my training. I prefer moderating the carbs as fuel for exercise. I found a web site IIFYM If It Fits Your Macros and that makes more sense to me.
