Well, I read what people write a lot on the competitions.  One thing I realized is that at this point in the competition (not quite halfway) we need to be reminded WE CAN DO IT!  If it was over halfway, you think okay I'm on the last part and I can try a little harder and at the beginning we are all pumped up because we know we can lose the weight in a month.  But, at this point some of us might be getting tired of sticking to a low calorie diet or diet of exercising or whatever and think "oh it's not even halfway finished".  Okay, well in a couple of days it is and you are on the downward slope.  So, be reminded YOU CAN DO IT!

As for me personally, another day without much exercise yesterday.  I was going to the gym this morning but decided I'd better take another day off or it might cost me not being about to go for a couple of weeks.  Rest the body and let it heal.  But, I HAVE been watching my calories so hopefully that will make up for the lack of exercise.

My friend Carol has been exercising every single day since December, isn't that AMAZING?  I mean she hasn't missed any days.  And my friend Kathyhas1b1g, goes up and down stairs all day for exercise (on purpose!).  I admire them both.  They are dedicated.

So, NEXT week I have to do a 5K for the Puppy Love Run (which is for the Humane Society).  It's one of the virtual races I have mentioned on here before.  Monday I think we will go out to Highlands Hammock and do the 3.1 mile loop and I'll take my puppy (okay, well he's not a puppy, he's a lot bigger).  Anyway, again the benefit of the virtual races is that you MAKE YOURSELF do them.  I have a week to get the 5K in, but I think I'll do it Monday.  Not to get it over with, but to make sure I do it.  I'm not trying to push the virtual races to those not interested, but they are something worth checking out.  They are fun and have really cool medals.  People that run "real races" know that it's all about the medals, LOL.  I have some really neat ones from Disney races, Space Coast races, half marathons in various cities in the US, local races, etc.  They are all "finishers" medals, just for finishing (half marathons).  I have placed in the top only in 2 races and both of them were local.  One I even placed first in my age division...FAINT!  The other one I think I was 2nd or 3rd.  They aren't my nicest looking or "most bling" medals but they probably mean the most to me.  ANYWAY, I digress.  There are a lot of virtual race places out there of varying distances.  Hey, it might make the boredom of a treadmill less so.

So, on to day 11, ALMOST half way.  YOU CAN DO IT!

Later, Denise
