It is officially day 3 of my dietbet and I am so very glad that I decided to do this. Due to having a goal weight and a chance to lose my money at the end, I have been very cautious on what is going into my mouth. In the past I had tried to lost weight two ways: severely low calorie intakes or watching what I ate for a few days (with nonaccurate calorie consumed calculations). The last few days I have been logging my food as accurately as possible by using a food scale or adding a few calories extra if uncertain of the correct portion. I have also worked out, but not as intensely in the past. I have just done 45 minutes of elliptical 2 of the days and I have just been sure to walk places instead of taking the bus or driving. From these changes alone I have already lost a large chunk of my goal weight.

I feel that finally I am going at my weight loss in the right mindset and I have been motivated with the other individuals doing these dietbets with me. It is really nice to have a long term goal that is reachable as well as be able to establish little goals to meet that big goal. 3 days ago I was worried I couldn't win this challenge, but now I think I can even if I have a weight plateau or two along the way.
