Diet bets are tough--4 weeks of trying to get enough exercise and eat the right things in the right amounts for my body. About 10 days ago, I believed I wouldn't win my current DietBet4--Drew's Challenge. I'd been on a plateau for almost 2 weeks. I needed to change something. I decided to change from driving to the gym to riding a bicycle. Since the gym is 14 miles away, and since I go about 5 days a week, this was a pretty big change. I've always heard that you can't outrun a bad diet. But I can say for certain that I can outpedal a good one. 200 miles in the first week on the bike. Thanks for all the support fellow diet betters!

Sign in to CommentSo, after riding my new bike for two weeks and almost 300 miles, I decided to really go for it on Saturday. I took a long detour on the way home from the gym. Oops, I thought it would increase my mileage for the trip home from 14 miles to 19 or 20 miles and add 300 to 600 feet of elevation gain. Next time I'll check a map before making a detour because it added 12 miles and a 1600 foot climb. My legs hurt so much! First day in about 2 months I couldn't go for a walk.
Good for you Kat!
Wow, I'm very impressed! Great attitude!

Great work!

Kat - awesome activity. Must feel soooooo good!
I am at 340 miles on my fitbit with a start date of 8/16/14. Coming into my busy season at work. I hope I can keep up the walking/jogging. We were in Stratton VT for the weekend and hiked the ski trails to the top of the mountain and took the gondola down. We won't talk about the beer, chili and pie tastings, managed to do no damage, down .2 from last week.
