Well, the scale and I are friends again! Down 1.2 lbs.

However, I still have MAJOR doubts about making my Jillian Micheal's goal - it would require another 2.8 lbs in 4 days. It could happen, but it would be a fluke. I've been wondering why that dietbet didn't work out for me so I can avoid making the same mistake in the future.

So, in review, started October 5th. Traversed slowly but steadily down until the 24th, when I had a little hiccup (got overtired, tried to solve that with cookies). Picked myself back up after only 2 days, and got back the wagon. Resumed slow but steady loss. In review, my rate of weight loss was in fact quite steady (average 0.2-.03 lbs/day) but just not fast enough for dietbet :-(

This isn't my first rodeo, as with many folks struggling to get to a healthy weight, and in previous attempts I've found I'm pretty consistent at losing 1.8 lbs a week. Interestingly, this works out to beĀ (0.2-.03 lbs/day). Guess that's how I lose weight.....

I was thinking that perhaps I hadn't been as successful with the JM dietbet because I wasn't that into it, and some dieting fatigue, but I think it might actually be more like that I'm a bit too heavy still to lose 4% of my weight in a month...Interestingly, that was my feeling when dietbet was first suggested to me by a friend, that it was basically inaccessible for larger folks. Perhaps my next dietbet should be a transformer.....go for the 10% over 6 months. We'll see how this month goes I guess. Another option - I know booze is a problem for me, maybe I should give up the booze this month and see if that gives me the results I'm looking for?
