So...I did it. I reached my three major goals today. I had five servings of veggies (unheard of for me), got plenty of water, and completed my Piyo workout.  At the end of the workout, Chalene Johnson mentions the "post workout high" that we should be feelng. Problem is....I feel more like I have the flu than a high.

That's right. My stomach is churning, my ears ache, my legs feel like artificially flavored gelatinous dessert and my lungs were burning through almost the entire workout. It's amazing what a few months of nothing but your 9 to 5 can do to your body. I would venture to say that this is the most out of shape I've been in my whole life. It's a strange feeling, being out of shape and I don't like it one bit. Normally this workout would be considered my "forte," so to speak. It's kind of like a cardio charged mixture of Pilates and yoga. Perfect for dancers. I was shocked to find how much I struggled through it.

I suppose I could choose to beat myself up for letting my fitness decline this far, but I have a feeling that doing so after day one could prove a bit counter-productive. I feel very accomplished for my first day, despite the difficult workout but I had hoped for a more enjoyable experience.

So here is where I could use YOUR help. Yes, I mean you. I don't normally like to ask for help, but I feel like maybe it's time to suck up my pride and try something different. After all, this really brainy guy said that "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results."

So that brings me to my question-Have you ever experienced this? If so, how do you manage to stay motivated through your workouts when you feel so awful? When the instructor is saying you should feel great, but you feel like you may have to dig out the dreaded barf bowl? Any and every bit of advice and encouragement is greatly appreciated.

Happy Monday!
