Doctor's first comment:  "I'm glad you are here.  Did your wife set this up?"

Me:  "Yup."

'Nuff said.

Seriously though, a physical (and the associated man-probing) is not my idea of a good time, but I suppose annual physicals are good for everyone.  All you ladies out there I know get far more invasive treatments than us dudes ever do, so I will try not to whine too much.

One happy part of yesterday...I step on the scale...The nurse says:  "Nice...down 5 pounds since last time you were here 6 weeks ago."  (Yay!)

I'm fasting this morning...need to go do some blood test this morning.  I'm actually pretty darn healthy (other than weight), and I really want to stay that way.

My wife is a nurse, and she mentioned to me that labs and bloodwork often show problems before people ever recognize it.  If you get cancer, sometimes your white blood cells will go off the charts, and can be detected super early with a simple lab. This is good stuff to reflect on that us mere mortal non-medical people should think about.  Whens the last time you saw a doc?  Hows your cholesterol and blood pressure doing?

Its important to get labs and see the doctor, even if you feel good.  <end of my public service message>

Have a great day all!  :)
