Yesterday was a day of celebration! My sixth grade kids graduated yesterday. (For some reason the school year in Japan ends in March and starts in April, maybe because of trimesters? I don’t really know…anyway!) Yesterday was a good day I got up super early because I had to be at school early and I at my breakfast of greek yogurt and banana pancakes there.

We didn’t have any lunch coming in yesterday so I went to the convenience store to buy lunch. I was so sure I was going to be stuck buying a boiled egg and a rice ball because there wouldn’t be any healthy options but I was proved wrong! Yay! I got tofu, Korean style cold soup, and a tuna a corn salad. Thinking back I wish I would’ve ate a bit less. (Minus the tofu would have been good) But I still haven’t gotten used to getting less food. I get fuller faster now, because of water and eating much more slowly. So I bought more than I needed to. I will keep that in mind for next time.

As I said it was a day of celebration. And Japanese people celebrate with two things, food and drink. Since it was still working hours (lol) my principal rewarded us with food for all of our hard work. Now I know what you’re thinking. No! You can fight it!!! But Japanese cake is not the same as cake in America. One it doesn’t have nearly as much sugar and two IT’S SO FLUFFY. So, I ate it. And it was the best cake EVER. I don’t think that cake in and of itself is bad. It’s a treat. What’s bad is if you eat it everyday. I think cake twice a month is ok.

But it put me over my calories and I refused to eat less during dinner so I worked out on my rest day. Yup yesterday was rest day. But to even out my 400 calories over (from cake and dinner) I danced! That’s not bad right? I am supposed to be resting from running but it doesn’t mean I can’t do other things! So I danced for about an hour and a half by myself, in my room and worked it off. Lol. The only problem is I did have trouble going to sleep. Next time I will try not to work out so close to my bed time. >.<
