YAY! Yay team! I'm so excited that this little network of motivation and success and general positivity is a part of my life. Thanks for acknowledging your struggles (and mine!). I hate day two soreness, but day one soreness is GOOD. We got this, lady. Teeth are f*ckers. Don't let them defeat you :D

Happy to hear you are back on track Kim. :) Keep on going.

You're doing it! Focus on the good choices you make and forget about the bad ones. Get right back on track and never look back. The only thing you can control is TODAY - and you made a lot of good choices today!

I have this quote taped onto everything in my world right now: "The purpose of life is to be defeated by greater and greater things." - Ranier Maria RilkeI'm working on trying not to view my failures as "Failures", you know? Shit happens. Cookies happen. It sounds like you're viewing these things the right way-- which is to say it sounds like you're holding yourself accountable without beating yourself up. That said, I could not live a life devoid of sugar. It isn't worth it to me. Chocolate is my downfall. I want all the chocolate. So I try to buy little squares and be an adult about it-- treat myself to one or two after dinner, that kind of thing... Buuuuuuut... It doesn't always pan out. I ate like 10 Dove dark chocolate squares the other day. It was amazing. And the next day, I only wanted one. I dunno. Maybe there's something to all that "sludge meal" talk. As for the being in pain/not working out/feeling bad stuff-- yes. YASSS. My body feels good today, for the first time in over a week, and I know it's because I have worked out 2 consecutive days, drank 3 litres of water both days, and have been eating well. I wish I could like electroshock therapy myself into remembering that feeling bad makes me feel bad which makes me eat badly which makes me feel bad which makes me eat badly. LOL. I hate that when you're in the heart of ennui or general crap-feeling that all the logic just VANISHES. Vanishes in a puff of pastry and cream. Dieting is hard. I think I need to get a ta

Congrats on winning the bets! 20 lbs (or kilos?) lost - that's amazing! I had a root canal today so I can emphasize... Honestly, during a month of excruciating toothache, I wasn't able to work out at all -- and I gained some weight. The only thing I could really do was some low-intensity workouts, like slow walks. Are you having your wisdom teeth taken out?

Brit

I hear you on the tooth pain and not wanting to work out. Back in June of last year I had horrible tooth pain that took months for the dentist to diagnose and eventually had to get a root canal. Needless to say, I didn't want to do much of anything during that time. Looking back, I realize that exercise probably would have helped, if even just for my mood at least. Good idea to start walking since the idea of running during this sounds painful. You are still doing great! We all have setbacks on our journey, but kudos to you for sticking it out and moving forward!!! Hopefully the tooth pain doesn't get too much worse for you before you can get them removed. Will be checking in with you to make sure you get your workouts in this week! :)

You are a true inspiration Kimberly! Congrats on your run. You are truly dedicated. Love the rocky quote too!

Wow, it's so funny that we are so "synchronised". xD We took a week off from blogging almost simultaniously, and the content you wrote about is also pretty similar. :) Congratz on your 16K run. That's awesome! And of course you should take at least two rest days before running again after such a long run. No shame in respecting your body. ;)
