Nancy, I'm so sorry you're having a rotten time of it. I was deeply discouraged (though with far less reason) a few days ago, and was pulled out of it by my DietBet friends. It makes you mad when you're doing everything you know to do, but it's not working. If you'd like, I have a few ideas for you (hard-won knowledge from long-term attempts), 'cause I think I've finally figured out what actually works. For one thing, the FIRST thing to do is figure out what your healthy daily caloric intake goal really is. Have you gotten a free membership to MyFitnessPal yet? They (as well as other sites, but I love theirs for its ease-of-use) have a tool that very simply allows you to determine how much you should be eating each day without sending your body into starvation mode (where it holds onto every friggin' calorie it can lay its blubbery hands on). I'd say, DO THAT FIRST if you haven't already, and if you want (and ONLY if you want), I'll share approaches to help break this stalemate.

Thanks, COHikerGirl! I think I have finally pulled myself out of my funk and back on the losing track. I started SuperShred earlier this week to try and break my plateau and get motivated again by trying something new and different. I've lost 4.2 pounds in 5 days. This was just what I needed. Once the 4 week SuperShred is over I will start regular Shred for a long-term lifestyle and maintainence.

That is SO cool. I'm really glad for you; it can be so discouraging when the scale just isn't cooperating with your hard work. But transcendently glorious when it DOES. ;) You go, girl! :D
