    Food choices are such an important part in a successful weight loss plan! For one day (Aug. 23rd) I'd like to challenge you to track all your food intake and to try and calculate the calorie amounts. I know so many of you are already great at this and are pros at tracking calories daily. But, if it's not a common practice for you it can teach you so much about yourself and your habits.

Took the nephew to Disneyland tonight we were running from ride to ride since we didn’t have much time as we got there late after work. Ended up with an hour of exercise minutes keeping up with the 8 year old!

My biggest challenge is the social aspect of eating. I can do really well eating when I'm prepping and eating at home.
So many people want to hang out over dinner or drinks. It's so hard to keep proportions small when you are there for awhile.

My biggest roadblock is not getting out of my comfort zone. I know in order to make progress I need to get out of my comfort zone. To help me get out of my comfort zone, I signed up for a mud run and plan to go jogging a couple of times a week to help prepare for it. (Btw...I really dislike running/jogging)

My biggest challenge is schedule. With two teenagers life can get crazy. So I find it is hard to get healthy choices on the go or my gym schedule will get off. Luckily moms taxi service closes monday because the last gets their driver's license.

Is there a rule about finding people in this DietBet on Facebook and trying to pitch an MLM to them? Because there really should be. I thought this would be something separate than my real life but I feel like my privacy has been seriously invaded. It’s fucked up.

  • It seems like since we were young it's been ingrained into us that food is a reward. "If you eat your vegetables you can have dessert." "If we fill the jar full of marbles we get a pizza party." "If you sit quietly you'll get a lollipop." I have totally used these tactics with my kids. But, I'm trying to steer clear of this these days. This week try to think of things that you can reward yourself for a job well done, other than treats.

    Like:
    Give yourself permission to take a nap
    Treat yourself to a massage
    Get fitted for workout shoes at a running store
    Plan a weekend getaway with your significant other.....

    What have you done to treat yourself for accomplishing your health and fitness goals?
