By some miracle, I'm where I was at the beginning of the month this morning (a good thing; the scale has been ticking up). I suspect it's dehydration and won't last. I wore a mask this week after I was well enough to go back to work, and that kept me from drinking as much water.

Still, it's an encouraging number. I was thinking of just taking a break for all of March and trying again starting in April, but maybe there's a chance.

I simply have no energy, though. Big things changed at work that are keeping me up all night, it's a busy time for student events that I have to supervise, there have been birthdays and funerals and upheavals, and there will be more in the coming weeks.

I haven't even *opened* the letter I got from my pen pal last week. Maybe that will be my treat today... after my German meeting and the laundry and the family event and the research and preparation for a brand new unit...

A big hug for you with all those spinning plates...don't forget to give yourself a moment to breathe

Sorry that you have a lot on your plate at the moment. I would love to encourage you that every day that you make good choices is a day that is establishing a positive habit for the future. Hang in there and know you have a bunch of cheerleaders here for ya! :)

I am struggling with snacking and just WANTING the sugar snacks. Even one a day can be too much, but “delay, don’t deny” isn’t super working for me rn :-/ I am sad.

Eat more protein

Megan S.

Maybe take a look at your sleep/rest (not just quantity, but also quality). I know when I am tired my sweets and snacking drive is through the roof. I’ve been trying to prioritize consistent sleep habits and that has been really helping me to keep to my diet.

I also try “giving in” to the craving in a way that still meets my diet goals. Ie, I’ll have ants on a log (celery with peanut butter and raisins) which provides a sweet(ish) treat that also has lots of fiber and fat to fill me up.

Good luck with finding your balance!
