  • I barely made it. I mean really barely, just an nth of a pound! I’ll have to mix things up if I’m going to meet my December goal.

    If you scraped by like me or didn’t make the cut, is there something you’re going to do differently to make round 2 impactful?

I barely made my weigh in as well. For my first two weeks I hadn’t lost much weight and I was doing half weights and half cardio for exercise. On my last two weeks I focused on more cardio and noticed the weight going down more. So my plan for this month was to incorporate more cardio workouts. My main one is doing long fast paced walks with my dog :dog:

I was calorie counting with not a huge deficit because I wanted to maintain it. I also wasn’t really counting the oil in my pans. I kept the calorie count the same and starting adding in the counts for the oil and I’m seeing more progress. Making sure to not overdo carbs before weigh in and eat plenty of vegetables and drink water to help you not be bloated especially the week before weigh ins really helps too.

I had to do a video weigh-in, and I didn't lose enough weight to also account for the weight of my phone. I used my tripod to hold my phone in the video, hoping that works

  • How’s everyone doing at the end of Round 1? I started off the month with a loss of a few pounds, but apparently I quickly became complacent because I’ve put them right back on, and I’m feeling more sluggish.

    I’m trying to think of ways to get back on track and stay there. This time of year, I love to sip on warm water with lemon throughout the day - I need to break out my electric kettle to make that easier! And I’m thinking about trying to eat the same thing for dinner every day - if I can do that at breakfast, why not dinner too? Lastly, I need to be diligent about filling my plate with veggies at every meal, and making time for daily movement.

    What about you? What’s keeping you on track?

I just have to calorie count every day. I’m trying to keep it at a reasonable number - doable but not torture so I can keep it up.

I also have to count calories. The new thing I started doing is stop eating at 3pm. Getting my daily calories in before 3 has my body really happy for half of the day instead of feeling unhappy all of the day. Even if I have a bad moment, I'm hungry by bedtime, and that helps me reset for the next day. When I'm hungry, I tell myself I've counted my calories so I know my body is fine. Also, for me, at the end of the day, it doesn't matter how much I eat. It will never be enough. So that makes it the best time to skip food altogether.

Round 2 is definitely going to be the hardest to hit. 6% in 2 months is not easy. I’m trying to hit a reasonable calorie count each day so I don’t get discouraged but also meet my goal.

If you fail weigh in round 1 by a couple pounds will those pounds be carried on to weigh in round 2. So would your round 2 goal add with whatever you didn’t get in weight in round 1? Not say I didn’t reach my goal but I do want to clarify.

Thank you very much! I personally just don’t weigh myself unless I am submitting my weight (In the beginning and end) so I didn’t know how much I weighed until today. It looks like I am going to make it (no jinks:sweat_smile:) so this question doesn’t apply to this round. I now know for next round.

I'm 4 pounds away from my round 1 goal. It's going to be a challenge, but I believe it is doable. SImple plan - stay out of the booze and lay off the sugar - I can do this!!!!

If you don’t make it, don’t give up. Work on round 2. You can do this. Calorie counters really
help.
