  • Beyond happy and excited! This time around I worked on meal prepping and got a coach to help me at the gym and paid off! The first week I was really sick and the whole family got sick but I still keep with my water intake and so proud of myself! DietBet is one of the best thing I have pushed myself to do! So far, I’ve been on the journey 16 years and have lost 282 lbs. I’ve learned a lot about myself. It does get rougher sometimes, especially if I’m emotional.

Consistency and Sustainability. You need to be more consistent over time than you’re not and you need to pick a workout and a nutrition plan that works for you. FOR. YOU. It’s not a one size fits all world- different things work for different people. It needs to be sustainable- this is for your lifetime. Not just 4 wks.

  • Hi everyone, happy to be joining the challenge. Last month I took a maintenance break from my weight loss journey due to extra stresses in my life and losing a dear friend to cancer. Now I’m back and ready to put in my all. Last year I lost 60 pounds, I need to lose another 62 pounds to reach my goal weight. Here’s a before and after from last year. Remember to take pictures! I wish I had better progress pictures but I did take measurements and I lost 2” off my neck and 8” off my waist and I’m down 3 pant sizes. Pictures show my partner in crime, my cardiac alert service dog named Julia.

Happy Tuesday morning to most of you. For others and other time zones happy midday or evening. Besides going to the gym or doing workout classes. What are some other activities you like to do besides working out. For me I have a 14 year old daughter and a 12 year old son that are both in travel soccer. So a lot of my time is spent taxing them around and helping them work on footwork. Then I have two standard poodles that are 2 years old and they need a lot of attention as well. They Love Walks our future playing in the yard and swimming when it's nice out.

I have put in a lot of laps around my kids’ soccer fields. I get tired of just sitting anyway, and I figure I can still watch while I walk around!

I have been struggling a bit with prioritizing my own health and fitness lately, though. When my kids were little I was so dedicated that I got up before they did to run or workout a few times a week. Now I keep putting it off and then don’t feel like it at the end of the day. My to do list included making a workout plan today, but I didn’t even prioritize that. Maybe that’s what I’ll do this evening…I want to be a good role model and show them how to care for their health, too!
