About the Miso Soup..I make my own at home, and if you use miso paste , composed of fermentated soybean paste, it can be vegan for sure. I lived in Japan for a few months, and I doubt anything there was ever vegetarian, as they put fish in everything. If you make it at home or read the label, you can determine status...many will be vegan for sure!!!

Hi, best advice that I can give is to watch your calories and keep them under the amount that you have to have to lose weight. The other thing is to drink lots and lots and lots of water. I like the steam in bag frozen veggies and sometimes take a bag to work to eat with a sandwich or bowl of soup. Filling and not many calories.
