Great honest blog post. Thank you for sharing. I know I just don't know how I got this size. I have been on and off a diet for most of my life and yet I am 15 pounds heavier than I was 4 years ago!!! This is what I know. When my kids were young every summer, I took them to the pool at lunch and came home at dinner. We had taco salad almost every night. I would end the summer at a size 8 and end winter at a size 16!!!! I never dieted then, but I do remember taking a calisthenics class for a few weeks. YOU CAN DO THIS... I CAN DO THIS... WE ALL CAN DO THIS... This being, move more each day and eat a little healthier each day. After all, we really only have now. Yesterday is a memory and tomorrow a fantasy. HUGS and thank you for sharing!

Good luck! Keep it up. My best advice is to make slow changes so you have an easier time but please, stay away from SODA! It is so toxic to your body, sugar, sodium, food coloring, everything. When your body craves soda, go for water. Have a fruit smoothie and get the natural sugar sweet taste instead. Good luck!

I just kicked the soda habit earlier this month...it was MUCH harder than I anticipated. Caffeine withdrawal symptoms lasted about 2 weeks. Don't give up! I feel much better now and I know I am much healthier. You can do it too!

I'm cheering for you. The best thing is that you've never given up, and you should be very proud of that. You can do this. Your success is in your hands!

Myra, I just ran across your blog post and couldn't get you out of my mind. I'm more than twice your age and have fought all of those battles for years. I have long believed that we all need to work through this on the buddy system. Everyone needs encouragement and positive reinforcement. I have also found that the one who is our hardest critique is us. So I want to suggest to you that you stand before a mirror and see how beautiful you really are. Stop being so hard on yourself. We are all wired differently. Personally I hate exercise and my bad knees keep me from doing very much. "Much" being the operable word here. I walk at least 2000 steps in my house every day. Don't laugh. I've been able to lose 9.8 lbs in the last week. Low carb - no cravings. You do what works for you.I will do my best to keep you motivated so we both can celebrate your success. So get moving and know that you have a lot of supporters who want you to succeed!
