I've been overweight my entire life and have no idea what my ideal weight "should be" other than arbitrary BMI numbers. When I try to visualize a goal weight, the best I can do is think of a clothing size that will allow me to buy an outfit from almost any store. Right now I'm thinking a size 12, but who knows. Just gotta wait and see where trusting the process will take me.

I used to be queen of the scale, faithfully every morning weighing myself. Three things happened to help me change, Whole30, Diet-Bet and a desire to stop beating myself up based on what the scale said. Until those three things happened, I let the number on the scale dictate my moods and emotions for the day. I knew I was eating right and exercising but the scale didn't always know that. So I had to stop. I want to get through each day knowing I've made healthy choices. But believe me, when 4/15 hits and my eyes open, I'm jumping on the scale!!! Old habits die hard..lol.

Hi Mandy. I'm on Day 1, which actually starts tomorrow. I'm going to look into MyFitnessPal. I'm putting in a friend request and hope you'll friend me back :) Thanks for sharing what's working for you.

I'm loving your blog post, thank you. I started at 268lbs in 01/2015 and weighed in for this diet-bet at 249. I've tried and given up so many time before, but this time feels different. This is my first time out of the 250's in YEARS and I have no desire to cheat or sabatoge what I've accomplised so far. I keep setting mini goals for myself such as not sitting for longer than one hour, reducing my portions and doing it for just one more day. Can't wait to bust through the 240's.

Welcome Mandy. I love DietBet. The people here are wonderful supportive and friendly. I started January 27th on Dietbet and have lost a total on 26.9 lbs. I am still in awe over that. I been trying to lose weight since Sept 2014. I am down 51 lbs. in all. The community here is truly supportive and I love it and I am so glad I found this gold mine. It is so many people and they are just wonderful. Money definitely motivates me to. Well, welcome and I hope to see you around.
