I've also found it easier in the past to keep my weight loss efforts to myself. When colleagues would ask if I'd lost weight, I would just shrug it off and try to change the subject. My parents and siblings are never made aware of any of my efforts. It's not that they wouldn't be supportive - I just don't want to have to answer any of their questions. My hubby is great - we aren't always equally motivated on any given day so that's a bit hard, but we are on the same track and we'll get there in our own time.

Exactly! I prefer not to talk to my family about my weight loss efforts. In part, because I've yo-yo'd in the past, in part because they're judgey, and in part because I die a little inside every time someone offers me ignorant dieting advice. My dad is the MASTER of man-splaining what I should be doing, while he starves and binges himself thin or fat. How 'bout I do me and you do you, eh family? I've found that the anonymity of this site has really allowed me to blog honestly and that has allowed me to get pretty honest with some introspection. That helps me a LOT. I hope it helps you, too. Good luck!
