  • Look at that swim yesterday! 2 miles! For some reason my watch lost a 25.... probably during cooldown because I do backstroke and breaststroke and it isn't as reliable at counting those.

Felt good to get back in the pool after several weeks of not making it a priority....

Someone just asked me when I was due. I’m not pregnant. I hate myself and also everyone.

Just know Maggie you can lose weight easier

Congratulations :purple_heart:

It was a fantastic feeling. Not my best picture, but it was all about that Dress! Made me feel confident and powerful. Funny how a simple dress can do that. I credit the pockets. Dress with pockets = Confidence!

My brother is staying with us for two weeks before his big trip in Europe. He’s a Chef, and loves to try recipes and inventing new ones. So he cooks for us! But he looooves butter... and oil... hahaha

Why don't I ever get house guests like that!?!?!

Megan C.

Challenge him to limit it to be healthy yet delicious! Sounds like he'd be up for the challenge!

Everybody: Are veggies part of your diet? What? How much on a daily basis? What is your “go to” to get your veggies in?

I munch on cucumber as snacks or substitute salad instead of rice. Zucchini with eggs is a good breakfast add-on veggie too :)

ari W.

Other than my morning shakes, I pretty much only eat fresh produce. I keep cauliflower rice and butternut squash noodles in my freezer for when I want a hot meal but my usual is carrots and hummus or roasted broccoli as a snack and a massive salad for lunch and/or dinner. When traveling I load up a veggie delight from subway

I use traveling for work as an excuse to eat unhealthy and skip workouts.

What are some of the ways you stick to your goals while traveling?

Hotels have exercise rooms that are usually empty late at night...and have pools that are usually pretty empty too, if you find the right time of day to swim...either at night or in the morning.
I have had MASSIVE success exercising on vacations...
even more than when I'm home!
---
And I make sure that the room has a nice fridge and we stock it up. And we get those disposable BBQ grills and go to a park and have a great time.

I love and work in two different states, so while I’m away from home for 3.5 days I stick to shakeology for breakfast (or some shake of choice) and then I get a loaded 12” veggie delight from subway and eat half for lunch and the other half for dinner. The whole thing is only 480 cal and then I keep apples, and baby carrots (and hummus if I can) on hand so I’m always ready to snack if I’m hungry. I also keep my morning and recover shake on hand in case I need something. Lastly, I have plain oatmeal should I be in a bind. In between all the snacking....water water water. 100oz a day

I bought a bunch of nuts in a store that roasts the nuts in the back. YUM.
I told the guy I wanted it in 5 different bags.
He looked at me like WHY would I do that? How weird.
I told him that if he put it all in 1 bag, I would eat WAY too much.
In truth, it really should be in TEN different bags. But I couldn't/was embarrassed to ask for that.
--
Now, the trick will be to only eat 1/2 a bag of nuts each day.
Hopefully, the positive energy here will help me.

Great idea!

Thanks, Megan. So true...even knowing all the rights things to do...what to eat, how much, when,
and what exercises to do, for how long, and how often, it IS still VERY hard to APPLY that knowledge and translate it into reality!
---
The big deal this past year, was that for the most part, I maintained my massive weight loss of 80 pounds and didn't regain all the weight...
which is unfortunately all too common.
The goal this year, will be to shed those last 30 pounds or so and get to goal weight. This 6-month transformer and one more after that should do it.
12 months to slowly build new good habits of exercise, and tweak the amount of nuts I eat, so that I'm not taking in so many calories seems DOABLE. Especially with people like you and others supporting and encouraging me :)
