  • Made it, about 40 pounds down and beat my 10% by 10 pounds. Did it by sprints uphill, doing push-ups daily (adding one each day), keto and intermittent fasting. And the support I got here. As I posted earlier, my labs show I’m no longer diabetic or high cholesterol, so I didn’t have to start those pills prescribed for me.

I want to thank dietbet, if you look on my abdomen there are four scars from my ruptured appendicitis, with two surgeries in Jan and March 2021. I never completed the dietbet that year and they refunded me 100%. 2022 was going to be “the year” instead, and I’m glad I made it.

For those who have a hard time sticking to it, don’t worry. The average person takes 5-10 tries to kick a bad habit like poor dieting and inconsistent exercise. Don’t ever give up! It also helps to have a list of reasons to remind yourself why you are doing it. My goals were: 5. Set good example for my kids and patients 4. Not have to be on medications 3. Get rid of my reflux at night 2. Make the weight limit to jump on trampoline with my kids 1. Impress the wife.

Still want to lose another 10% weight to get to a final goal of 210 pounds, although at that point I’d still be considered “obese”. Isn’t the BMI system a little crazy?

I can't believe it, but I've managed to meet my goal weight for every round of this transformer. Now I'm dreaming about what to do with my winnings. Does anyone know how long after the final round finalizes do winners get paid? Not trying to make anyone jealous, but I'm thinking about getting a new over-the-stove microwave!

I didn't make it to onederland as I had hope this month, but I have shed almost 33lbs so far this year. I crushed my goal for this diet bet, lost my goal amount plus another 9 lbs. I know I didn't gain all this weight in 6 months, so I dont expect to lose it that quicking. It's a journey and having been overweight my whole life this will be something that I have to be careful of for the rest of my life. I'm choosing me.

33lbs is amazing that is like a heavy duty backpack full to the brim with textbooks that you no longer have to carry around. I think you will make onderland in no time. Congratulations!

Also I think you are wise in your analysis of the pounds being easy come and hard to go. I think the ratio of time and effort is something like 1 day of sinful sloth and gluttony for 3 days-1 week of hard work and dieting to make up for it.

VICKI

Stacey 33 pounds is about! Congratulations!!! That is awesome…keep up the good work and your onderland will come soon!!! Great job!!!

  • Here's my first pic ever for DietBet versus my pic this morning.

I was at 249.5lbs in the pic to the left. This was Oct 2020 when I had really done a ton of damage to my body during Covid. Too many margs, beers, chips with guac or queso daily. While delicious, I was so unhappy, unhealthy and on a very bad path.

On the right, taken this morning, I am 47.2 lbs lighter! I haven't been under the 200 lbs mark in FOREVER. It's my goal to see if I can get there in time for the final weigh in tomorrow or the next day! I've got a 5k run planned tomorrow.

I don't share this to brag. I do share it to celebrate. I also share it because seeing other's victories encouraged me to push through and make it happen. You CAN make it happen! I've won plenty of DietBets but have also lost some. Over the past 1.5 years I have taken some breaks, gained a bit back but lost it again.

    Overall, I've kept it off.

The key is to be consistent. The key is to keep showing up. Keep pushing and chasing towards your goals.

Thank you DietBet. I've loved this experience and will keep doing more.

I’m 2.2 lb away. Time to tape on some trash bags and go for a run in the 95 degree weather...I’m kidding but I am hoping if I don’t eat today I can make it. I’ve lost every round but I’m so close to winning this one!

I’m so nervous! I’ve been away from home (and my scale!) for a week now, as my dad was in a bad car accident. I had a day in the car driving to my parents’ home and ate fast food. I’ve gone out to eat multiple times with my mom and kids. My parents are overweight and don’t tend to have healthy foods in the house.

That being said, I’ve been very careful, have had some “cheat” foods, but I didn’t go crazy with stress-eating. I’ll be going back home tomorrow and am praying I stayed on the right track this week.

Either way, I’m waaaaaay better off than I was 6 months ago! For that I am grateful. 🙏

  • I won every round but the last one I missed it by 1 pound today i am 1 oz less then my goal weight. Super happy although the weight loss doesn't show so much I feel great and have certainly gained muscle. Good luck everyone

I’m right there with you! Won every goal but the last one - too many birthday celebrations & a road trip did me in. But as of this morning I’m 1/2 lb ahead of goal & feeling good about tomorrow’s weigh in.

Marceline

You look great! I also don’t feel like I look that much different but my rings are looser!

Trying to decide if I want to join another transformer. I love all the encouragement and engagement but I lost almost all rounds of this one and although my weight is going down again, it’s doing so very slowly.
Who all is doing another DietBet after this one?

I’m going to do a maintenance DietBet since I’m pretty much at the weight I want to be.

Kristen H.

I’m not doing another one. The community aspect would be so much better if we could reply to peoples comments and it notifies them. There’s no conversation here really.

  • I started this game in Jan (234ish) with the goal of getting as much weight off as I could healthily get off by my oldest son's wedding in 25 days. Getting back to One-derLand is the goal I've been striving for for over 2 decades now, when I left it with my 2nd born 21 yrs ago, and then #3 just drove me further away from it. So I am forever grateful for this game, as I am now in a time/place in my life where I can prioritize my health and will not allow myself back in that place. 40# more til goal seems SOOO much more obtainable than my highest of 126# to goal!

Good Luck to Everyone and may you ALL have an amazing Summer!! 💖
