DietBet gets a 25% cut. I think you are thinking about StepBet where only 15% is taken out.

Cara D

Ahh, yes! I did get that confused. Thanks!!

  • Hey guys...in my congratulations email there was a link to this game. Looks like there is another maintainer after all

I don't see a way to contact anyone with concerns. Does anyone know of a contact?

I guess I don't understand. If I do any in the future I'll do monthly.

Janessa you have explained it well but I would not have joined had it been explained well in the beginning. In the normal dietbet, you are guaranteed your money back if you win. So each round we won (had it been a normal dietbet) we would have been profiting each round versus only winning half each time. Now we get to the end and have only won $14. This is terrible. I definitely understand not doing another maintainer. Dietbet should have been much clearer.

Well, I had a 2 lb buffer yesterday morning, but because of a funeral across town, we ended up eating out for both lunch and dinner. Even though I made excellent food choices, I think the added salt got me. I was at my highest allowable weight on the dot this morning. No slip ups today. Good luck everyone!

Sues

I am doing OK.. Good luck to you all! I cannot believe it is almost over!

Has anyone experienced people who aren’t supportive of your weight loss, and how do you cope?

My husband has lost 30 pounds in the last few months. He’s a size 34 waist now so he’s not too thin but he’s trimming out for sure. He has unsupportive family members. I think jealousy plays a major role which is so sad.

So sorry you have to deal with this. I'd say stick to what your doing and hopefully they'll come around.

Janessa W.

I have experienced this a lot with my mom and sister. It was very hurtful at first, but I came to realize it had nothing to do with me and was 100% about them. My sister is still extremely unsupportive, so I just don’t discuss it with her even if she brings it up. This stemmed from the fact that she had asked me how much I weighed and when I told her, she started screaming at me saying that there is no way that I should ever weigh less than her. (She’s not very subtle.) My mom finally started being supportive last month. She asked me if I was still in the maintainer and I said yes. She ended up telling me how proud she was of me and asked if I could help her with losing weight. I was shocked considering all of the hurtful comments and attempts at sabotage that were thrown my way.

Well, I had to go and make it a bit more nerve-racking by going bananas with my food for a couple of days. Better do one last effort for this bet. Good luck, everyone!

  • Eating right can be so difficult sometimes, especially if you have some pretty long standing habits to work through. What has helped you guys push through those old habits to form healthier ones? Did the change last for you? If so, how were you able to maintain a healthier diet, that wasn't just a diet, but a lifestyle change? We learn so much from each other. Thank you in advance for any advice you can share. :)

    Health tip:
Here's a recommendation for those who are trying to cut more sugar out of their diet. Use honey, molasses, or syrup as a substitute. They are all less processed and are more beneficial for your overall health.

One of the biggest and most impactful changes that I’ve made is reducing pastas and replacing it with either veggies or grains (like quinoa and farro). It has really helped me lose weight and keep it off. It is also easy to stick with because I can use the same recipes that I did with pasta, so the flavors are the same, but it’s a lot healthier.

Jenn and Kandice

Such a smart plan. These substitutes make such a big difference! Great job Janessa!
