Hi guys! I'm Aimee, a married mom of 2 in Redding, CA. I'm doing my weight loss journey completely different than I've ever done in my life. I've always gone up and down since I was about 16. I've done all the diets, supplements, pretty much everything you can think of except for pharmaceuticals. This time around, I'm trying to do something more sustainable where I don't get burned out and I enjoy the process. I'm using myfitnesspal and I'm giving myself between 1500 and 1700 calories per day. I'm focusing on protein, Fiber, Whole Foods and listening to my body. If i want a cookie or ice cream, i do it. Im eating what I want as long as it fits within those parameters. So far, this year I've lost 15 pounds. This is totally sustainable for me, I dont feel miserable or deprived like i have in the past, and I think tracking is something I can do for the rest of my life. The only exercise I'm really doing is walking a lot, I also plan on re-evaluating after my cut phase, and doing a few weeks of a higher amount of calories to figure out where my maintenance level is. Once I get down to my goal weight, I will definitely work on building where muscle, but for right now I'm just trying to get the weight off through nutrition and walking. It's been working great and this is my 3rd dietbet of the year! Good luck everyone!

I feel like I could have written this myself. Name a diet, most likely I've tried it. No more special diets for me. I'm sick of gaining the weight back when the diet is over. Now just like you I'm focused on protein, fiber, whole foods and calories. I'm learning it's ok to have the cookie as long as it's not all the time and it's fits into my calories.

You got this Aimee! Congrats on the 15lb loss.

I didn’t meet my goal thanks to a conference I attended that threw me off track. 😩 overall though, I DID lose 5lbs and I’m happy. This bet really really helped. I’ll be joining the next one for sure, but I’m wondering if any of you know of a good bet or group to stay on track between now and when Lexi’s next bet comes up?

Makani this is the link to mine. 5 lbs is great!! I weighed in today. The actual start date is March 7. I'll also be reinvesting in myself and be joining Lexi next game and another DB member Ashton!! This is amazing encouragement & accountability for me!!

  • I’m 4 pounds away from being under 200. I started working out and eating healthier when my kiddos went back to school in September. I have lost 76 pounds since then. I haven’t been under 200 since before I meet my husband 13 years ago. Now my problem is all my clothes look like dresses on me. Haha
