As for why I've been a diabetic for so long - I was in denial for a long time and decided that since I was young, it was fine. I also didn't have a good education about nutrition in my early 20s, and I was very, very poor. But I've learned the hard way not to be stupid, and I hate to see other people repeat my mistakes. I've been trying to get through to my younger siblings, they have diabetes too. You can absolutely bring your diabetes into remission, but you have to keep eating right from now on, and regularly exercise (any kind, even for 10-20 minutes, as long as it's near daily, helps a lot).

The more I think about it, the more I've been in denial. I've had symptoms for at least 6 months - if not longer. I just chose to ignore it. Thank you so much for your replies. Helps me know I'm not alone :)
