It was interesting to read your blog. I'm betting more than a few of us are sharing your struggle (me!). As I said before, I did a carb load in between Chris and Heidi's and the Transformer--supposed to every 6th day. What I didn't say and thought of later was how it made me feel--I felt bloated, stomach distended, got stuffy like coming down with a cold, sneezed and coughed with a runny nose (like allergies), and woke up looking over swollen cheeks--all in a couple of days of not eating as cleanly as I had...not fun and a good incentive to live right.

I think when we're not eating mindfully on a regular basis, we ignore a lot of the lousy feelings in our body. I saw this young lady at the Red Robin yesterday (yes, that's where I ate my cheat meal!). I looked at the dark circles under her eyes and the waxy complexion she had (in addition to the extra weight) and I found myself shouting internally, "Your body is trying to tell you something. Listen!" Today I get to listen as my gut reacts badly to my cheat meal at Red Robin. Someday I will get the hang of this.
