My grandma is going though a couple rounds of inpatient chemo where she is in for 3 nights at a time, and the day she gets out we always stay with her overnight. I always get a terrible night sleep (we have to sleep on an air mattress), and I always end up super carb cravy all the next day cause I'm so low on engery.

Well, I didn't want it to throw off my schedule, so I packed everything for breakfast this AM to make smoothies. I pre-portioned 2 servings of protein powder, chia seeds, greek yogurt, and even the almond milk. We even brought the blender cause my grandma doesn't have one. I was feeling so proud of myself this morning until it dawned on me that we forgot the frozen smoothie packs--the fruit and spinach.

D'OH!

EVERY part of me wanted to just say screw it and go get greasy McDonald's or carby bagel from Panera, but instead of chose to stop at 7-11 and make a "deconstructed smoothie." I got a Quest Bar for protein, a cheese stick for dairy, and some mango slices. And a giant coffee cause I'm only human and I needed something to keep me awake.

I guess for me, the moral of the story is that things will come up and I have to learn to roll with the punches. I feel good about my breakfast, and it's motivating me to keep the rest of the day healthy too.
