You are definitely more evolved than I am - I still let the scale get me down!

Oh man you are singing my song. I recently hit that same wall with the same-ol same-ol and ended up eating fast food or pints of ice cream. I got an air fryer and that has helped a lot. :)

Good for you! Beating yourself up helps nothing, but looking back at the progress you have made puts things in better perspective. Keep it up.

Like the song says: Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again. Each time, as you work on letting go of the guilt and realize that sometimes life happens, you will find yourself back on track quicker.

I guess it depends on how much of the fat you eat. I happen to be having lamb loin chops tonight, I trim off as much of the fat as I can before I cook them. My calorie counter says one lean chop has about 130 calories, a fatty one closer to 200.

Get him to buy lamb steak next time, leaner meat, no bone and very tasty especially with some veggies and mint sauce.

I'm the same, it doesn't feel like progress when I'm still only losing what I regained, I'm not down into "virgin" fat yet. Maybe a visual reminder would help, like Tiffani suggests. I've been considering getting the two jars and pretty pebbles, you move one pebble to the other jar every time you lose a pound/half a pound so you can see your progress.I only recently heard of the jar idea for weight loss, probably here on dietbet, before that it was a joke wedding gift. For the first five years of a relationship you put a pebble in the jar every time you have sex. For the rest of your life, you take one out every time you have sex. You will never run out of pebbles in the jar!

I'm doing the same thing in my head too. :-/ We are doing so well though!

I try to keep it in perspective too. It takes an extra 3500 calories to truly gain a pound of fat. Unfortunately it works the same way to lose a pound. This last week I was WAY off track...ate an entire box of v-day chocolate & had an entire large Pizza Hut pan pizza :-( The scale went up, but I'm also convincing myself that in reality I probably only gained 1-2 lbs, and after losing over 15 lbs since Jan 1st, it should NOT be a reason to give up! My mil will always say how she gained 5 lbs from a meal, but like you said it's really mostly water retention. Keep up the good work! Weight loss 90% mental/attitude and how you deal with setbacks!

I never thought about getting a baseline with my tracker. That was a good idea! I do sparkpeople.com and they have a spark tracker which links up to the site (you can link your fitbit to it too) but I love it because it tracks EVERYTHING walking, biking, elliptical, running... it doesn't track weight training but I'm not sure any trackers do. I have thinking about getting a fitbit because I could track it from my phone one thing that the spark doesn't offer yet :(
