Self-Sabotage

I've gotten to asking myself 2 questions:
1. "is it worth it?"... meaning, is this splurge worth the calories and whatever feelings I might have about going off my eating plan cost me?
2. "how recently have I splurged?"... making me accountable for not going nuts too often.

If I answer "yes" to the first question and "not within the last 3 days" to the second, I go ahead and splurge with no regrets and no looking back. :) It's surprising how much this strategy keeps me on my plan.

KnitterBeth, I love your plan. I'm usually consistent when dieting (hadn't gone off track for almost 3 months before I went to Grenada). The only problem I have is this: I can convince myself that it's worth the cheat while I'm on vacation, but I don't know how to stop once I start. I need to find a balance so that even if I'm away, I can just say I'm gonna have ----, & that's it!!! I'm either gonna have a cheat meal or dessert; I don't want cheat days...... I haven't gotten to that point yet. :-)

Thanks for giving us something to think about. I really appreciate it!!! :-)
