We only had one child this weekend (the other was with her mother in Toronto for the One Direction concert), so we thought we'd kick back a bit and see "Get On Up," the story of James Brown, on Saturday. It was pretty good and you should definitely see it, but I have to admit I was very distracted for the first twenty minutes.

By popcorn.

Sweet, delicious, buttery, fluffy, popped corn.

The husband and the kid got popcorn to share (with extra butter) and medium (giant) sodas.  It was day six of no soda for me, so I knew my only option was going to be water. No problem there - that part has been surprisingly OK so far.  However, I am constantly thirsty despite the quantity of water I have been putting back - half my body weight (in ounces, obviously).  But the popcorn... torture!  This is the second time I have chosen to go to a movie and torture my senses by popcorn.  I survived without both times, but that was a challenge, especially when all I had to do was move my hand four inches to grab a handful.

Sunday was not as successful.  We hit up a local festival. Well... I dropped the boys off for some father-son time while I went and got a much needed massage. I met up with them at the festival afterwards.  By the time I arrived, I was pretty hungry, despite the fact that I ate breakfast and lunch earlier.  My demise? Cinnamon roasted almonds.  Doesn't sound too bad, right?  Wrong! That sign was misleading.  By cinnamon, they totally meant "this cinnamon and sugar candied roasted almonds."  Fail.  I limited myself to a handful - besides - the almond part of that is still good for you.

It was after that point that my decline started spiraling out of control.  We stopped at my mother in law's house.  We has pretzels and sun chips as snacks - and wine.  WINE!  I couldn't say no.  I decided to limit myself to once a week - on the weekends - for wine. Which I stuck to... on Friday.  But Sunday... it was supposed to be a wine-free day!  We left there and ended up meeting up with some other friends and more bad choices were made.  Sigh.

But, today is Monday.  It's a new day.  The scale is down a few pounds from just the first week.  I did work hard last week and had a lapse in judgement yesterday.  My poor choices yesterday led me to getting to bed too late and not preparing a healthy lunch for today.  Which means eating out - but I will be getting a salad.  Then hitting up a spin class tonight before heading home to make dinner for my clan.

What do you guys do when you get off track from your "plan"?
