I had a few technical issues with getting my weigh-in approved, but I'm now in with both feet. So I need to lose 10.7 lbs by April 28th. That's not going to happen without a plan. I'm more of a 'slow & steady wins the race' kind of person, but in order to reach this goal, I think I'm going to need to take it up a notch - or two.

My eating habits have been quite poor. Getting back to a more balanced diet and implementing some portion control will really help. However, that alone won't get me to a 4% weight loss. I'm going to have to move this butt. I used to spend a lot of time in my apartment building's gym. I quite enjoyed it even though at the time I lived on my own and wasn't responsible for keeping an entire household neat and tidy. Now that my hubby and I have a home, I find myself being responsible for the cooking, cleaning and other household duties. And everyone who has a house knowns, there's ALWAYS something that needs to be done. Some of that will need to change if I'm to make time to use our treadmill. I've got a new priority.

Now, this is all great and wonderful, except that we're headed into Easter long weekend. We will be visiting my mother-in-law who loves to spoil us with her fine cooking and other treats. What a way to start this Kickstarter! Eesh! Then we have my birthday, hubby's birthday and a visit from my parents - all before my bet ends. Hum, I guess I didn't really think about all those factors ahead of time. But then again, there's really never going to be an ideal time. So I'm in it to win it!

In the coming days, my goal is to increase my physical activity and continue to make good food choices. Bye-bye decadent poutine, it was nice knowing you. :-(
