Do we have to weigh in if we don't have premium membership? There's a banner that says weigh in every time I log in.

Or do we just weigh in at the end? This is very confusing. Every time I push the way in button and ask me to pay for a membership.

No you don’t have to - there’s unofficial weigh in underneath if you want to track yourself in app… and you only have to weigh in at the end xx

Hey everybody a lot of people are asking how I lost 100 lbs I went through a lot for a yr I have a very large hernia that kept obsructing my bowels and at least 5 times I was admitted into the hospital they put a tube down my nose through my throat to my stomach to clear it a little! They wouldn't fix my my hernia because I was over 300 lbs they wanted to do robotic surgery but I was too big they didn't want to have to open me up the old fashion way but I was so big so they said I had to lose a lot of weight so they sent me to a bariatric doctor! So I had bariatric surgery July 11 th I was 304 lbs I always said I wouldn't go that route I always thought it was the easy way out! But it's so not easy! I still have to work out! I still have to eat right and watch calories! And there's so much I can't eat ever again that I love no white potatoes or white rice or white bread! Or soda so it's definitely not the easy way!!! I've lost 100 lbs and still have further to go I'm at 204!! And recently they told me at the barriatric center when they are able to do my surgery they have to cut me open the old fashion way because they let it get too big!!

  • This was yesterday (but only just getting around to posting); I don’t track food anymore (not even photos like this usually now) because of such an unhealthy relationship with tracking and counting calories in the past - so yesterday I got around to breakfast about noon with overnight oats made with Greek yogurt rather than milk (nicer texture for me n higher protein), a tablespoon of mixed seeds, and a handful of frozen fruit that defrosted overnight in the mix…next feeding time was around 6pm - lunch/snack of gluten free bread spread with real butter and marmite before I went to the supermarket for cleaning supplies…dinner I didn’t get round to sitting down and eating till 11pm (I got back from the shop at 8pm and have no idea what happened to those three hours!) and toffee full fat yogurt (which is under 4% fat so technically a low fat food…) with dipping banana >.< then I felt like some gaming snacks and something sweet around midnight so chose a portion bag of jelly beans, some fruit, and another yogurt.

Giving myself permission to eat fun foods that are typically not “allowed” on a diet helps me regulate to a smaller (probably more typical) portion and stops the binge/starve cycle.

I also think about my diet in terms of what I want it to look like when I’ve finished losing weight and replicating that in now - and I want sweet treats and yogurts and ice creams (which is the other advantage for me of taking yogurt to the sofa for pudding is that I am then happy with a “lower tier” sweet treat than if I get back up to hunt one down >.< )

Peace out lovelies! Enjoy Friday and here’s hoping for hiking weather this weekend!

Nice tracking. Yes, I am also working on trying to see myself where I want to be, sometimes I even succeed,

Ruth T.

@Mary B I think it helps me that I’ve formed a “body neutrality” view of my form in the last couple years… but I’m having some minor health issues (stage 1 non alcoholic fatty liver disease for starters…) that my GP has advised I lose weight to see if that clears it up… and I’m hoping a more nutritious diet will help the liver cuz the other option is my happy pills :scream: and it took 16 years to find ones I could tolerate side effects of and are beneficial! So I’m praying that feeding my body according to physical requirements will help xx and that’s also why I’ve got to get it down to how I want to eat for life!

Not sure if it was good timing but an upset stomach is making food less appealing. Not the best way to do this.

Hello everyone! I had a non-scale victory yesterday. I work as an HR person in a nursing home. I had a resident tell me that she can tell I’m losing weight and that she’s really proud of me. She pulled my heart strings pretty good lol.

I’ve been struggling with my binging for the past week. It’s not as bad as it use to be but I still struggle with it. Sometimes you need that little bit of a boost to help keep you motivated and staying focused.

Here’s to another great DietBet with Lexi! Have fun everyone! You got this! 💪

Ok y’all! Confession. I’m a night owl with an addiction for sweets and an utter lack of self control. I could seriously sit down and eat a box of twinkies in a night. During the days of Covid when my depression…and weight were at an all time high it would be nothing for me to down a pack of mega stuff Oreos almost nightly. Yes super bad I know. I managed to kick that habit once but for some reason after all this time I have fallen back into that routine (not to that extent mind you)

This week I have been doing great. I cleared out the open snacks and even had my son hide the unopened box of oatmeal cream pies from me

@Ruth, dunno why this works for other and not me.! :weary:. I would have no qualms climbing up to get more. Eventually, I will bring the big box down and keep it in my lap. I always feel compelled to eat stuff till it’s all gone

Ruth T.

@Nina B I think it’s also partly cuz of the autisms setting something is finished helps me know that activity is over - and I find transitioning hard so the more extra steps to do something the less likely I’ll succeed at it…unfortunately that also spills over to the rest of my life so for most daily activities I’m trying to simplify things then things I don’t want to eat too much of I try to complicate XD
