When l started doing hot yoga in the summer l was the same way. l was bothered that everyone else knew what to do except for me. l was determined to be as awesome as them. The first day of hot yoga kicks everyone's butt. l exerted myself trying to go as deep as everyone else for each pose. l ended up being dizzy and having to leave early. The instructors always say it doesn't matter where you were yesterday, and to just go at it with where our body is at today. They don't even want us to compete against ourselves haha which is smart. lt is not fun learning the hard way!

Sorry about your loss. Don't beat yourself up. We will be a good example to our children, by being good to people, enjoying life and taking care of ourselves. If weightloss come along that will be a bonus to us. The walk run seems amazing!

Agreed! lt's kind of weird that people don't really realize how devastating those food offers can be. My guyfriend has offered me my favorite foods or to take me out even though he knew l was trying to not indulge too much. He was just trying to make me happy, but he didn't realize I was specifically trying to not take so much pleasure in eating. It's a weird area when a supportive action, the gift of comfort food, turns from a present into a hurtle.

So true! I'm fortunate that my husband treads that delicate balance of loving me as I am and telling me I'm beautiful no matter what I weigh--and supporting me when I'm working to lose weight. But I have a family member who has often commented on how "you just didn't look good when you were so skinny". (I was not exactly gaunt then.) I think every commenter here has made some great observations, and Sherry & Susie really hit the proverbial nail on the head. People are uncomfortable even with positive change.

Thanks for the great post!
