I didn't make the goal, but I still lost over 3 lbs and I'm continuing to make progress!

I've been doing various Diet Bet challenges for just over two years now and it's definitely harder than it was at the beginning, but I'm so proud that I'm continuing to make progress and get closer to my goal.

Moderation is my key along with movement.

Small portions of most things and filling up the plate with mostly veggies. Starting hydrated also helps!

Mostly though, I'm keeping in mind that it's just one day and it doesn't undo the months of hard work I've put in to get where I am and that's a wonderful thing! (Ok, it's actually more of a whole weekend, but still!)

I'm definitely not as motivated as I once was either! I've looked at the math of where I am and where I want to be, and I've mentally reset my personal goals.

Sure, I could aim to be on track to lose the full 9% for next round, but instead I've mentally set my goal to just 6.5%. I'll win less money, but I plan on still making progress towards my final goal of a healthier weight and body.

You’re not alone. My body decided this game was the perfect time to throw in cortisol spikes and hormone imbalances that come with peri menopause. I lost zero lbs this round.

Massive non scale win for me tonight!

I like to sew and I also am tall, so I buy sewing patterns and some clothes online (gotta get those tall sizes) which means that it's very handy for me to track my dimensions every once in a while. I measured myself tonight and compared to my measurements from before I started using Diet Bet in November 2023 (60 lbs ago) and I've lost an average of over 3"!!!

Over bust 39 to 38 (-1)
Full bust 43 to 40 (-3)
Under bust 37 to 33 (-4)
Waist ribs 36 to 34 (-2)
Waist bellybutton 45 to 39 (-6!!)
Hips full butt 48 to 45 (-3)

I highly recommend checking your progress with your dimensions and not just the number on the scale.

  • Skinny chicken Alfredo spaghetti squash. I can have about 1 1/2 cups plus we have 2-3 servings of steamed veggies on the side. My sweetie really likes it, he is fit and walks several miles a day so I make sure he eats double.

The only weigh-ins required for a Kickstarter are the Initial and Final weigh-ins.

If you have a DietBet membership, you can also submit a weekly Progress weigh-in which enters you into the prize drawing for that week (winners announced every Thursday morning). DietBet membership is optional - we have yearly and game-length options.

The $500 bonus is added to the total pot for this game and will be split amongst the winners :)

I was below goal for round 1 but this round I lost momentum. I didn’t make the round 2 goal but I am not giving up! I need to get back to my round 1 routine including: meeting daily steps, no “bad” carbs, 1,000 calories daily deficit, and logging all food.

I might join a kickstarter for extra motivation.

Congratulations to all the round 2 winners. I plan to be back in the winners’ circle for round 3, 4, 5 and 6!
