Nikki B.

I have been overweight ever since I had my 1st son 10 years ago. Being thin/average came easy to me until then. I am at the heaviest I've been in my life, including while pregnant and I'm ready to get back to me. I want to be fit and healthy.

Awesome, Keep it up! Reading your blog made me realize that carbonated water can cause bloating.... I drink that in place of anything else that's not water (juice, soda). Occasionally I'll have coffee but I'm trying to "let it go, let it gooo!"So interesting to me that soda for you is much harder than cigarettes! In any case, congrats on your new successes and keep up the great work!

Nikki, your story is very similar to mine, only I never had infertility and I really can't blame my weight on pregnancy. During the years my children were small I gained on average 5-7 pounds per year. Every couple of years I'd lose maybe 15 pounds and then gain that and a few more. In my 30's I stayed around 200 pounds. Like you I am evenly distributed. But the older I got, the closer to 40 the more soft and jiggly I became LOL. In my 40's I finally took up walking as a way of life. But not until I was 47. But the food part has been hard. I know what to do, just not how to stay motivated to do it. I also did nutrisystem. Yuck, and you are right, yuck to spending so much and then having to buy and cook for everyone else. Besides that, my husband always wanted to eat that food. He's crazy. He hates for me to have anything that he doesn't have. I also did the diet pills and besides all the things you pointed out about the way they make us feel, I was clenching my jaw all day long and my mouth and jaw hurt a lot. Here we are. We can do this!
