In December I stopped eating carbs. I lost some pounds, fit nicely into my Red Ants pants and felt great throughout the cruise. Even without a scale to keep me honest for five weeks at sea, I kept my weight down at about 154.
Almost as soon as I got home I started gaining weight and the number has been climbing steadily. The other day I saw 167 on the scale. I have weight loss goals for myself for how I want to look when I go home in June, and for the summer, and when I go home for Christmas. I drew a downward sloping line on a graph and aimed to keep my weight below it, but it just isn't working.
Now there's money on the line. I don't want to throw it away, but more importantly, I really want to stay below that line. I want to fit nicely into my clothes again and feel fit and not embarassed about how I look.
Cutting out carbs always works for me, but eventually I crave them and things go crazy. So I think I need to go back to calorie counting. That way, if I want a piece of bread, I can have it as long as I stay below my calories. I think 2200 has been a good limit in the past, especially if I'm excercising, so that's the goal for this week. I'll make weekly goals throughout this process so I can reflect and adjust as necessary.
GOALS FOR WEEK OF MAY 16TH
(1) Keep calories under 2200.
(2) Avoid sugar and carbs as much as possible.
(3) Drink 3 bottles of water a day.
(4) Work out 4 days.
(5) Write again next Sunday.
